Setting goals for a new blogger
One of the best ways to keep your motivation alive as a new blogger is to set achievable goals. Many bloggers begin to write because they like the concept of blogging but don’t really have a plan or objective in mind, they just sort of start without thinking it out.
If you are just getting started and want to run a successful blog understand that a new blogger needs to be patient. Making money online and getting paid to blog doesn’t happen overnight. The most successful blogs have been around for over three years and post on a daily basis (if not many times a day). So, this is not to discourage you but for you to have the information in advance. Be patient.
So what are reasonable goals for a new blogger? Well, I would start out with this list which I tend to use when I create a new blog.
1. Write 100 blog posts
2. Secure 50 quality backlinks on various posts
3. Build a RSS subscription of 25 readers
4. Earn five dollars a week with advertisements (try google adsense)
5. Achieve PageRank of 5
These goals might take you three months to six months to achieve depending on really how new to blogging you really are but this will at least give you something to shoot for and keep you going. Some people try to create many blogs but never really put any effort into any of them, if you are a new blogger, start one blog, do it well and get it successful before you consider starting a second blog.

To get pagerank till 5,it’s need a literally damn hard effort to achieve it.
You do and you don’t, I think the biggest thing you need is a consistent effort over a long period of time. If write on a normal basis and get backlinks and use SEO techniques for a few years you will get there. I just hit rank 5 on one of my blogs in about 5 months but took about 2 years to get there on a different one. All depends I guess but achievable I think. What would you think is a good goal for a new blogger? Any to add to the list?
